I grew up in Waterloo, a place that holds many fond memories for me. Attending Waterloo High School was a pivotal time in my life where I formed lasting friendships and developed a strong sense of community. Those years were filled with learning, laughter, and the challenges that come with adolescence.
My career as an office representative has been fulfilling. I take pride in my ability to connect with people and solve problems effectively. The satisfaction of knowing I can help others motivates me to strive for excellence every day.
I’ve been married for 33 wonderful years, a journey filled with love, support, and shared dreams. Together, my spouse and I have raised three incredible children who have brought so much joy into our lives. Now, as a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren, I cherish every moment I spend with them. Our family gatherings are filled with laughter, stories, and love.
As a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia, IL, my faith plays a significant role in my life. The church community has been a source of support and connection, allowing me to grow spiritually and engage with others who share similar values. Participating in church activities and events has enriched my life and strengthened my commitment to service.
Change can be hard, and I’ve faced my fair share of challenges. However, I believe in the importance of resilience and growth. I am committed to overcoming obstacles and embracing the opportunities that come with change.
In my free time, I love to immerse myself in nature through camping and canoeing. Traveling to new places fuels my spirit of adventure, and I enjoy creating memories with my loved ones. Game nights filled with trivia, bowling outings, and, of course, summer barbecues are some of my favorite ways to connect with family and friends. These moments remind me of the importance of enjoying life and staying positive, as our journey is indeed short.

My name is Tami York, born and raised in the close-knit communities of Shiloh and O'Fallon, Illinois. I have been married to my husband, Jeff York, for 34 wonderful years. Jeff’s service in the Air Force for 20 years took us across the country, allowing us to explore diverse places and cultures while building a life together. Together, we have raised two amazing children who are the pride of our lives. Parenting has been one of my greatest joys, and witnessing their growth and achievements has filled my heart with happiness. Family time is precious to me, and I cherish the moments we spend together, whether at home or on the road. For 17 years, I have had the privilege of working with State Farm, where I have developed strong relationships and gained invaluable experience in the insurance industry. My career has allowed me to serve my community, helping individuals and families protect what matters most to them. When I’m not working or spending time with family, I find solace in nature. I have a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and camping and fishing are two of my favorite pastimes. Whether I’m casting a line into a serene lake or setting up camp under the stars, these experiences bring me joy and peace. Our journey has not been without challenges. Moving frequently due to Jeff’s military service meant adapting to new environments and building new connections. However, these experiences taught me resilience and the importance of embracing change. Each transition strengthened our family bond and enriched our lives with new friendships and opportunities. At the core of my life are the values of family, hard work, and community. I believe in the importance of giving back and supporting those around me.
